Ribbon AI Alternatives: 7 AI Interviewers Compared, With Prices
Seven Ribbon AI alternatives compared by interview format, who each suits and published prices, from phone interviewers to browser voice and video tools.
Ribbon is an AI interviewer that holds structured voice and video interviews in a browser, built for hourly and high-volume hiring, and unlike most vendors in its category it publishes its prices: plans start at $499 a month, billed annually, for 100 interviews. Teams look at Ribbon alternatives when that entry plan doesn't fit their volume or budget, when their candidates would rather take a phone call or skip the camera, or when they need more languages than Ribbon's 10+.
This page compares seven Ribbon alternatives and competitors: Classet, DIO, HeyMilo, Humanly, InterviewFlowAI, Interviewer.AI and Tenzo. Three of them publish prices too, which makes this one of the few corners of the market where you can compare costs before a demo.
Dio makes DIO, one of the tools on this page. Details checked on October 13, 2026 from each vendor's own website (other sources are named where used); products and prices change, so check the vendor's site before deciding.

What is Ribbon?
Ribbon calls its AI interviewer Bonnie and describes it as the bridge between an initial application and the first human-led interview. It runs structured voice and video interviews at any hour on a phone or computer with a modern browser, and follows up when an answer needs more detail. Invitations go out by SMS, email or WhatsApp. Ribbon supports 10+ languages, gives rubric scores and a recommendation, and says it syncs with 60+ ATSs, naming Greenhouse, Workday, Ashby, UKG and Workable. It flags integrity signals such as looking away, background voices and scripted answers, which its documentation describes as a tool to assist your review, and it offers analytics.
Its named sectors are hourly ones, such as warehousing, retail, restaurants, hotels, home care and contact centers, along with staffing agencies and job boards. Ribbon was co-founded by Arsham Ghahramani, its CEO, and Dave Vu, its COO, is based in Toronto, and raised US$8.2 million from Radical Ventures in March 2025, according to the law firm Torys. Ribbon says the final hiring decision remains entirely with the human recruiter. Its site displays a badge citing a 2025 bias audit; the pages we read don't name the auditor.
What does Ribbon cost?
Ribbon's pricing page listed these plans, billed annually, on October 13, 2026:
| Plan | Price | Interviews a month | Each extra interview |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $499 a month | 100 | $4.00 |
| Business | $999 a month | 400 | $3.00 |
| Scale | $1,999 a month | 1,000 | $2.50 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom |
At full use, that works out to about $4.99, $2.50 and $2.00 an interview. Every plan except Enterprise has a 7-day free trial.
Why do teams compare Ribbon with other tools?
- Entry price. $499 a month billed annually is a real commitment for a small team or a first pilot.
- Format. Ribbon's interviews run in a browser, by voice or video. Some teams want candidates to take a phone call instead, or want a format that never involves a camera.
- Languages. Ribbon lists 10+. Teams hiring across many languages compare vendors that list more.
- Scoring. Ribbon gives rubric scores and a recommendation. Some teams want to trace every rating to the candidate's words, and some would rather the tool didn't recommend at all.
Which Ribbon alternatives are worth comparing?
The seven tools below are listed alphabetically. Each entry covers what the tool is, how it differs from Ribbon and what to check, drawn from the vendor's own pages.
Classet
Classet is an AI recruiting platform for hourly and frontline roles in staffing, skilled trades, healthcare, manufacturing and logistics. Its AI recruiter, Joy, handles the first phone interview and follow-ups: Joy calls candidates, and a Call to Apply hiring number lets candidates ring in at any hour. Each criterion is marked met or not met with the candidate's words quoted, the overall fit is Strong, Good, Borderline or Weak, and Classet says Joy never rejects anyone. Joy works in 25+ languages, and Classet says a third party audits it for bias monthly.
Compared with Ribbon: a phone call instead of a browser link, for the same hourly roles, at a lower starting price. Classet's plans start at $249 a month billed annually ($349 month to month) for 50 completed interviews, with $5 for each extra; Scale is $999 a month billed annually for 250, with $4 for each extra.
What to check: ATS sync, covering 95+ platforms, is Enterprise-only, from $1,995 a month. The free trial is 20 interviews and needs a card, and no browser or video interview is described.
DIO
DIO is the AI interviewer made by Dio, which publishes this page. Candidates open a link the recruiter shares and hold a structured voice interview in the browser whenever it suits them, with a microphone and never a camera; most interviews take about 15 minutes. DIO follows up when an answer is thin or vague, and at the end answers the candidate's own questions from a Q&A the recruiter has reviewed.
Each competency is rated 1 to 5 against anchors written for the role. Every score must quote the candidate's exact words, which are checked against the transcript, and two different AI models grade each competency independently; when the evidence isn't there, or the models disagree about whether it is, the score is left blank rather than guessed. Knockout questions flag an answer for a recruiter to review, and a person on your team makes every hiring decision.
Compared with Ribbon: voice only, with no camera at any point, and a scorecard built on quoted evidence that two models must agree on. Interviews can cover a first-round screen or later role-competency rounds.
What to check: interviews are in English only, and this page doesn't cover Dio's pricing. Dio doesn't send invitations itself, so the link goes out through your own email, ATS or job posting, and results leave as CSV or Excel exports and a PDF summary of each interview.
HeyMilo
HeyMilo is an AI recruiter for teams swamped by applications. Its AI phone interviews call the candidate or send a browser audio link, and its AI video interviews listen, respond and ask follow-up questions. It also screens by SMS, runs knockout questions on forms, offers scenario-based skill assessments and books a calendar slot after the screen, with configurable fit scores and a plain-language rationale.
Compared with Ribbon: the same high-volume and staffing buyers, with a phone call as an option, and a named auditor: its responsible AI page says Warden AI runs monthly bias audits.
What to check: pricing isn't published, and its pages list 20+ languages on the homepage and 14+ on the phone and video pages. See HeyMilo alternatives.
Humanly
Humanly makes AI recruiting software for hourly, frontline and high-volume hiring teams: an AI Recruiter for outreach, screening and scheduling by SMS, chat and email, an AI Interviewer that holds real-time video interviews with a persona you choose, an ATS, a notetaker and a CRM. Candidates are scored against the same criteria, with knockout rules, 1–5 category scorecards and transcripts, and can answer in English, Spanish and 35+ other languages. It names integrations with Workday, iCIMS, Greenhouse, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG, Dayforce, Oracle Taleo, Avature and Employ.
Compared with Ribbon: a broader suite that also handles outreach and scheduling, with many more languages.
What to check: pricing isn't published; the site offers a demo and an ROI calculator. Its FAQ asks how Humanly protects against candidate fraud but gave no answer on the page we read.
InterviewFlowAI
InterviewFlowAI is self-serve AI interview software for startups, agencies and talent teams, founded in 2025. Candidates take a two-way conversational interview by video or phone call at any hour, and it also offers audio-only and role-play interviews, more than 100 skill assessments and a notetaker for recruiter calls. It supports 16 languages and 10 voices, gives scorecards, rankings and transcripts, and uses face and eye tracking, tab-switch detection and a Trust Score against cheating.
Compared with Ribbon: the lowest published entry price on this page. Its plans start with Pilot at $59 a month for 20 interview credits; Growth is $299 a month for 303 credits and Scale $499 a month for 505, at $0.99 a credit, and the trial is 7 days with 10 credits.
What to check: phone interviews and ATS integrations start on Growth, and cheat detection on Scale. See InterviewFlowAI alternatives.
Interviewer.AI
Interviewer.AI is an AI video interview platform for hiring teams, staffing agencies and universities, which also offers mock interviews for job seekers. Candidates record one-way AI video interviews, and from the Professional plan an AI avatar can hold a conversational interview. It gives AI summaries and scoring; candidates can answer in 13 languages, though it says scoring works best in English and major global languages. Professional adds fraud checks: multiple-voice detection, lip-sync anomaly flags and flags for screen or prompt assistance.
Compared with Ribbon: video-first, with monthly plans at a lower starting price. Its plans are Essential at $199 a month for 50 credits and 20-minute interviews, and Professional at $399 a month for 120 credits, 30-minute interviews, the avatar and the fraud checks. Credits roll over, a conversational interview uses 2 credits, annual billing gives 2 months free, and the trial is 14 days.
What to check: candidates need a camera, and ATS integrations (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Greenhouse, SmartRecruiters, Bullhorn and others) are on Enterprise only.
Tenzo
Tenzo's AI recruiter, Morgan, screens, interviews and schedules candidates by phone, text, email and WhatsApp, with AI phone or video interviews around the clock. Recruiters define the criteria, the weighting and the knockout questions, and the score, transcript and recording go to the candidate's record. Tenzo lists 57 or more integrations, including Bullhorn, Workday and iCIMS, and checks 40+ signals for cheating and stolen identities.
Compared with Ribbon: phone-led, with scheduling and messaging built in, and far more languages: Tenzo says more than 40. It says a person reads the record and makes the decision, and that candidates can opt out of AI interviews.
What to check: pricing is by tailored quote, so you can't compare costs with Ribbon's until you've had a sales call. See Tenzo alternatives.
How do you choose a Ribbon alternative?
Because several of these vendors publish prices, it's tempting to pick the cheapest plan. Five questions keep the comparison fair.
- What will one completed interview cost at your volume? Take your real monthly volume and work out the cost of a completed interview on each plan, including overage. Our screening cost calculator shows what your recruiters' first-round screens cost today, for comparison.
- What counts as an interview? Classet counts completed interviews, Interviewer.AI charges 2 credits for a conversational interview, and allowances differ in whether unused interviews carry over: Interviewer.AI's credits roll over. Ask every vendor whether an abandoned interview uses up your allowance.
- Phone, browser or camera? Hourly applicants often apply from a phone. A call, a browser link and a camera each lose different people, so test the format on your own candidates. Our comparison of AI screening interview formats covers what each asks of them.
- What sits behind a score or a recommendation? Ask for a scorecard from a pilot interview and check every rating against the transcript. Our guide on how AI interview scoring works explains what a traceable score looks like.
- What do the trials include? Ribbon offers 7 days free, Classet 20 interviews with a card, InterviewFlowAI 7 days with 10 credits and Interviewer.AI 14 days. Put the same live role through each trial you run.
