Screening cost calculator.
How many recruiter hours first-round phone screens take, what they cost, and what changes when candidates take an AI interview your team reviews instead. Change any number.
Recruiter time on first-round screens, a month
| Hours | Cost | |
|---|---|---|
| Phone screens | 86.7 h | $5,633 |
| Reviewing AI interviews instead | 14.4 h | $939 |
| Recruiter time given back | 72.2 h | $4,694 |
Hours = candidates × minutes ÷ 60, for the period. Cost = hours × your hourly rate. It counts recruiter time only; add any tool's price yourself to compare.
About the calculator.
What does the calculator count?
Recruiter time spent on first-round screens: the screen itself plus scheduling and notes, against the time it takes to review a recorded AI interview instead. It multiplies hours by the hourly cost you enter.
Should the hourly cost include more than salary?
Use a loaded cost if you have one: salary plus benefits and overhead, divided by working hours. A loaded rate shows what the time really costs the business.
Does the calculator include software prices?
No. It counts recruiter hours and their cost only, so you can compare any tool's price against the time it gives back.
